UNC Health Pardee participates in social media and digital communications to engage individuals and organizations in leading happier, healthier lives. We welcome and encourage open discussion on UNC Health Pardee Social Media sites (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Blog, etc.), and look forward to any comments, stories and experiences you would like to share. While we encourage fans and followers to share thoughts and opinions on our social media and digital communication channels, we expect that this will be done in a respectful manner. By accessing, viewing and/or posting any content related directly or indirectly to UNC Health Pardee on any of our Social Media sites, you accept, without limitation or qualification, this Policy.
UNC Health Pardee does not agree with or endorse every comment that individuals post on our pages. Our goal is to share ideas and information with as many individuals as possible and our policy is to accept the majority of comments made to our profile. However, a comment will be deleted if it contains:
- Hate speech
- Profanity, obscenity or vulgarity
- Nudity in profile pictures
- Defamation to a person or people
- Name calling and/or personal attacks
- Comments aimed at selling a product(s)
- Comments that violate any local, state, federal, and/or international laws and regulations
- Comments that infringe on copyright and intellectual property rights laws
- Spam comments, such as the same comment posted repeatedly on a page or post
- Identifying patient information
- Other comments that the UNC Health Pardee Digital Team deems inappropriate
By posting any content on any UNC Health Pardee Social Media site, you grant to UNC Health Pardee the irrevocable right to reproduce, distribute, publish, and display such content and the right to create derivative works from your content, edit or modify such content and use such content for any UNC Health Pardee purpose.
Posted comments and images do not necessarily represent the views of UNC Health Pardee. External, non-UNC Health Pardee links on any of our sites do not constitute official endorsement on behalf of UNC Health Pardee. Therefore, all links posted as comments on UNC Health Pardee posts will be reviewed and may be deleted. Repeated violations of the UNC Health Pardee social media and digital communication commenting policy may cause the author to be blocked from our social media and digital communication channels.
We understand that social media and digital communication is a 24/7 medium; however, our moderation capabilities are not. While UNC Health Pardee makes reasonable efforts to monitor and/or moderate content posted on its social media platforms, we do not moderate all comments and cannot always respond in a timely manner to online requests for information. Please know we cannot respond to comments that deal with individual medical cases, nor can we offer medical advice, diagnosis or treatment via the Internet.
