Your Hospital Bill
Your hospital bill reflects the services you received during your stay. A basic daily room rate includes:
- Your room
- Your meals
- Nursing care
- Housekeeping
- Telephone
- Television
In addition, there may be charges for special services, which include items your physician orders for you, such as X-rays or laboratory tests.
If you have certain tests or treatments in the hospital, you may receive a bill from a doctor whom you did not see in person. These bills are for providers who diagnosed and interpreted test results while you were a patient. Pathologists, cardiologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists and other specialists who perform these services are required to submit separate bills. If you have any questions about your hospital bill, we encourage you to call the number printed on your statement and speak to one of our financial counselors, who will be glad to assist you.

Online Bill Pay
We offer convenient online billing through our secure patient portal, My UNC Chart. Sign up and pay your hospital and physician bills at your convenience. You can view your statements, account details and manage your account online. You have the option to choose paperless billing.
At this time, we cannot accept online payments for Physician Practices.
UNC Health Pardee Care Standard Charges Information
As of January 1, 2021, all U.S. hospitals are required to publicly post charges for hospital-based procedures, services, supplies, prescription drugs, and diagnostic tests, as well as fees associated with equipment or facilities used during a patient’s appointment or inpatient stay. At UNC Health Pardee, we are complying with this new law and our price list can be found on the UNC Health Standard Charges page. While Pardee supports transparency in health care, the fees listed in this document do not necessarily reflect a patient’s out-of-pocket costs because they don’t account for what the patient’s insurance company will cover.

Online Payments Before June 1, 2016
Our online bill payment system only allows you to pay bills issued after June 1, 2016. For information about a bill prior to this date, contact 828-698-7306.
