Hearts Can't Wait

In matters of the heart, we wait for the right person, the right time, and the right place. But when it comes to your heart health, your heart can’t wait.

At UNC Health Pardee, you will find a multitude of comprehensive heart and vascular services to ensure that you get the best possible results, from diagnostic testing and minimally invasive procedures to vascular emergency surgery.

Our goal is to grow and change with our community so that we are the resource for the outstanding care that our community deserves and expects. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the U.S., and it is essential that UNC Health Pardee provide quality treatment for what has become a systemic health risk for those near our doors and afar.

An Outstanding Team of Cardiologists and Vascular Physicians

Our diverse cardiovascular team is led by physicians and surgeons with nationally recognized backgrounds. These physicians hail from highly regarded fellowship programs and bring their expertise and experience to the team and our community. The continued growth of our cardiology team is part of our commitment to bringing our community the care they deserve.

In an industry where it is common to wait weeks or even months for an appointment, we strive to innovate and excel beyond our competition to better meet the needs of our community. Our testing and screening is performed with state-of-the-art technology and our technologists and technicians have over 100 years of combined experience.

STEMI: Life-Saving Care for Heart Attacks

Because hearts can't wait, every second counts. Did you know that many heart attacks can be treated with interventional cardiology procedures and do not require open heart surgery?

Pardee is now designated for 24/7 STEMI and a PCI-receiving hospital, so we have the resources and expertise to provide round-the-clock interventional cardiology coverage for Henderson, Transylvania, and Polk County residents. When a heart attack occurs, you will be transported to and treated at a hospital close to home. We believe that this can mean better outcomes and healthier patients.

Personalized Cardiac Care Using Advanced Technology

Since no two people are alike, we treat each patient with a personalized approach while using advanced technology to diagnose and treat the full spectrum of heart and vascular conditions. At UNC Health Pardee, we believe in taking the least invasive road to recovery possible in order to minimize risk, downtime, and discomfort. This philosophy is the driving force behind the care that we strive to provide each and every patient.

Pardee has implemented a new type of laboratory test to check a certain enzyme in a patient's blood for those experiencing symptoms of chest pain. This test, called High Sensitivity Troponin-I, is more sensitive than previous testing available and also provides test results more quickly. Pardee is proud to be one of the first in the UNC Health system to take this progressive step to enhance patient care.

State-of-the-Art Cardiac Catheterization

In addition, UNC Health Pardee has a complete cardiac catheterization lab committed solely to the diagnosis and treatment of coronary heart disease. These services are executed by a board-certified, nationally recognized team of cardiologists and vascular surgeons, and a clinical team who can provide unrivaled care for an array of diagnoses.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

We aim to help you through the entire treatment process, from the time you come through our doors until you are ready to resume your life. At Pardee, this means offering cardiac rehabilitation to help you get back into day-to-day life.

Living a Heart Healthy Life

Our goal is to provide every person in our community the resources to make real lifestyle changes in order to stay healthy and on the road to a happy heart. We also offer heart health education to ensure that members of our community avoid ever becoming patients. Empowerment is often our most powerful tool to encourage everyone to live a heart healthy life.
