UNC Health Pardee Announces Physical Therapist Yaisel Hera as Teammate of the Month
UNC Health Pardee has announced Yaisel Hera, a physical therapist with Pardee Home Health as its Teammate of the Month. In her role, Hera meets with patients in their homes to help improve their functional independence and mobility. She also recommends equipment and home modifications and adaptations to make homes safer for mobility and teaches and trains caregivers how to keep loved ones safe.
Hera said she enjoys working with Pardee Home Health because of the opportunity to treat patients in their homes. “Nothing compares to being in a patient's home and helping them address the barriers to mobility and independence that impact them most on the day-to-day,” Hera said. Colleagues describe Hera as knowledgeable, thorough, genuine and compassionate sharing that “her patients not only find a skilled physical therapist, but a trusted ally on their journey to recovering and rehabilitation, which helps in the process of healing.” Others added that Hera’s advocacy for and commitment to her colleagues and patients has impacted all and has been a driving force behind empowering others to go above and beyond.
The Teammate of the Month award is given to a Pardee employee who positively contributes to achieving the organization’s mission, vision and goals. The award is given to a person selected by a committee of their peers and recognized for going above and beyond their regular duties to support patients, customers, peers, the organization and its community. The Teammate of the Month award showcases the many different roles of keeping a health system, like Pardee, operating and delivering patient-centered, quality care.
