UNC Health Pardee Announces Instrument Coordinator Marcelo Almeida
as Teammate of the Month
UNC Health Pardee has announced Marcelo Almeida, an instrument coordinator in the sterile processing department as its Teammate of the Month. In his role, Almeida ensures surgeons and staff have the instrumentations they need to perform vital surgeries for patients.
Almeida said he enjoys working at Pardee because of the camaraderie and how he and his colleagues work together to help patients. Almeida’s colleagues describe him as dedicated, reliable, and friendly, and share that he is someone they can count on, going above and beyond what’s expected of him. “He ensures patients receive the best care they deserve during their surgery by his dedication to his job,” a coworker said. “If I cannot find an instrument or need one turned over quickly, Marcelo is the person I reach out to.”
The Teammate of the Month award is given to a Pardee employee who positively contributes to achieving the organization’s mission, vision and goals. The award is given to a person selected by a committee of their peers and recognized for going above and beyond their regular duties to support patients, customers, peers, the organization and its community. The Teammate of the Month award showcases the many different roles of keeping a health system, like Pardee, operating and delivering patient-centered, quality care.
