UNC Health Pardee Announces Certified Medical Assistant Tinea Blue as Teammate of the Month
UNC Health Pardee has announced Tinea Blue, a Certified Medical Assistant with Carolina Lung and Sleep at Pardee as its Teammate of the Month. In her role, Tinea conducts blood work and ensures patients have what they need for smooth appointments, including but not limited to, sleep studies, and data collection.
Tinea joined Pardee in March 2022, attracted by the opportunities for growth and advancement. “I love what I do and I love making my patients feel comfortable and heard,” Tinea shared. Colleagues describe Tinea as compassionate, hardworking, diligent, knowledgeable and kind, sharing that “patients not only receive professional care but also find a trusted advocate in Tinea.” One coworker recounted an instance where a patient, without an appointment, came to the office seeking Tinea’s assistance with medical forms she couldn’t complete because she couldn’t read. The patient trusted Tinea to help her, and Tinea embraced the opportunity to assist, demonstrating her commitment to going above and beyond in patient care.
The Teammate of the Month award is given to a Pardee employee who positively contributes to achieving the organization’s mission, vision and goals. The award is given to a person selected by a committee of their peers and recognized for going above and beyond their regular duties to support patients, customers, peers, the organization and its community. The Teammate of the Month award showcases the many different roles of keeping a health system, like Pardee, operating and delivering patient-centered, quality care.
