UNC Health Pardee Hosts “Hops for Hope” Event in Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Oct. 5
Pardee Cancer Center is hosting Hops for Hope, a family-friendly fundraising event in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, at Dry Falls Brewing Co. in Hendersonville on Thursday, Oct. 5 from 4-10pm. At 6pm, there will be a butterfly release ceremony to honor breast cancer survivors. Proceeds from the event will benefit Pardee Hospital Foundation’s Women Helping Women program.
Pardee’s mobile mammography bus, Mammo on the Go, a Department of Pardee of Hospital, will be on-site for screenings. Appointments are limited, so individuals are encouraged to sign up early. Those interested in registering for a mammogram can do so through the online scheduling form at MammoOnTheGo.com.
"We’re excited about this event and the opportunity to bring awareness to breast cancer by offering onsite screening mammograms while honoring breast cancer survivors,” said Kristy Capps, RN, BSN, Breast Program Manager, UNC Health Pardee. “Early detection of breast cancer saves lives so the more women who are screened each year and know the signs and symptoms to look for have a better chance of being cured.”
