Certified Medical Assistant Samone Hackett Named Team Member of the Month

UNC Health Pardee has announced Samone Hackett, a certified medical assistant (CMA), as its Team Member of the Month. As a CMA with Pardee @Work, Hackett is responsible for scheduling appointments, completing new hire physical screenings, giving vaccinations, participating in annual fit testing and assisting the providers with examinations.

Hackett first became familiar with Pardee when she gave birth to her daughter at the hospital in 2013 and shared, “The outstanding care and treatment I received at that time made me decide I wanted to work for Pardee.” She said her favorite part of her job is the work environment, “We are a great team and enjoy working together and the providers and nurses are always teaching me new things to expand my knowledge.” Her teammates said, “Samone has been a wonderful addition to our department and her work ethic is motivating.” Hackett is described as very organized and great at prioritizing.

Pardee @Work cares for the employees of the healthcare system and helps ensure they can return to work in a timely fashion and when safely appropriate. Her colleagues said, “Samone does a great job facilitating the process for team members to get back to work safely, and is a wonderful communicator with both patients and teammates and provides a good organizational structure.” Hackett also shared that Pardee has always encouraged her to pursue her goals and further her education toward becoming a nurse. She is currently in school to earn her nursing degree.

The Team Member of the Month award is given to a Pardee team member who positively contributes to achieving the organization’s mission, vision and goals. This person is selected by a committee of their peers and recognized for going above and beyond their regular duties to support patients, customers, peers, the organization and its community. The Team Member of the Month award showcases the many different roles of keeping a health system, like Pardee, operating and delivering patient-centered, quality care.

UNC Health Pardee is a not-for-profit community healthcare system and is managed by UNC Health. The hospital, founded in 1953, is licensed for 222 acute care beds. Pardee has several locations separate from the main campus, including a comprehensive physician practice network, a cancer center, four urgent care locations and six orthopedic clinics.
