Brian Leutner Named Leader of the Quarter for UNC Health Pardee
Hendersonville— UNC Health Pardee has announced Brian Leutner, Vice President of Clinical Services, as its Leader of the Quarter. In this role, Leutner oversees the daily operations and functions of the hospital while ensuring efficient services are delivered to meet the needs of patients seeking care at Pardee.
Leutner joined Pardee in December 2019 and said his favorite part of his job is working on processes to create better outcomes for patient care. He explained that this usually entails working with departments and teams to utilize their skills and knowledge, which creates automatic buy-in and approval. Leutner believes listening and collaboration are the best qualities a leader can have, noting “the easy approach is making a quick decision that may have bad consequences, whereas the more difficult but more appreciated approach is to work in collaboration which opens the door to a longer-lasting solution.”
Leutner’s colleagues describe him as supportive and encouraging and always leading by example: “Brian has an open-door policy and is always honest and conducts himself with integrity.” Those who nominated him shared their appreciation of Brian for his support for professional development and for always encouraging staff to use the resources available for further training.
The Leader of the Quarter award is given to a Pardee teammate in a position of director or higher. The recipient positively contributes to achieving the organization’s mission, vision and goals. This person is selected by a committee of their peers and recognized for going above and beyond their regular duties to support patients, customers, peers, the organization and its community. The Leader of the Quarter award showcases the many different roles of keeping a health system, like Pardee, operating and delivering patient-centered, quality care.
