Pardee UNC Health Care Welcomes First Fellowship-Trained Thoracic Surgeon, Dr. Jessica Della Valle
Pardee UNC Health Care announced today the expansion of its surgical program with the addition of Jessica Della Valle, M.D., the organization’s first fellowship-trained thoracic surgeon. Dr. Della Valle is fellowship-trained in thoracic surgery, with notable training in robotic surgery, interventional pulmonary procedures, minimally invasive thoracic and esophageal disease surgery, and chest wall reconstruction. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and believes in providing individualized patient-centered care to empower and involve patients through the entire process, from preparing for surgery to diagnostics to follow-up care.
Dr. Della Valle earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. She completed her internship at the University of California San Francisco East Bay and residency training at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, MA. She went on to complete a fellowship in thoracic surgery at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. In her free time, Dr. Della Valle can be found hiking, biking, doing art projects and spending time with family.
