Pardee UNC Health Care today announced the addition of Nurse Practitioner Emilie Ogren, WHNP-BC to Pardee Breast Surgery. With the addition of Ogren, Pardee continues to demonstrate its comprehensive focus on the continuum of care for women, particularly in the area of breast oncology services and treatment. The practice is located at 805 Sixth Avenue, W in Hendersonville.
As a board-certified nurse practitioner, Ogren specializes in breast health post-surgery and is an advocate for women as they traverse their journey through cancer recovery. Ogren received her board certification in women’s health as a nurse practitioner from the National Certification Corporation and earned her masters of science in nursing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. She graduated with honors from University of South Alabama College of Medicine.
In 2021, according to the North Carolina Central Cancer Registry, the projection for new breast cancer cases, in situ, is 11,761 an increase in nearly 400 cases over 2020. Breast cancer in North Carolina comprises an estimated ⅙ of all cancers in the state.
