Pardee UNC Health Designates Fletcher Urgent Care as a Respiratory Clinic

Pardee UNC Health announced today that their Fletcher urgent care center will now function as a respiratory clinic, available to patients who are experiencing respiratory symptoms. The additional two urgent care facilities in Mills River and Hendersonville will be available for specific needs not related to respiratory illness in order to maximize patient safety and minimize unnecessary exposure to coronavirus or other respiratory illness. No COVID testing will be performed at any of these locations; however, flu and strep testing will be available at the respiratory clinic in Fletcher.

The Fletcher urgent care facility, located at 2695 Hendersonville Road on the Mission Pardee Health Campus, will provide service to patients with respiratory illness, mild breathing issues, colds, fevers, chills, and sore throats. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The Mills River urgent care facility, located at 3334 Boylston Highway, will serve Occupational Health and Pardee@Work needs like pre-employment physicals, workers’ comp and DOT physicals. In addition, this location will be providing service to patients that are experiencing no sickness, but require assistance with strains, sprains, lacerations, falls, wellness physicals, and urinary issues, among others. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The Hendersonville urgent care facility, located at 212 Thompson Street, will provide service to patients that are experiencing no sickness, but require assistance with non-work related strains, sprains, lacerations, falls, wellness physicals, and urinary issues, among others. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

None of the facilities require calling ahead; however, to expedite service, patients are always encouraged to use the online reservation system, by visiting PardeeHospital.org/urgentcare and reserving your spot. Patients should expect to be screened before entry at any Pardee urgent care facility, regardless if a screening call or appointment has been made in advance. Staff will be positioned at each entrance to ask screening questions and take temperatures, and/or redirect to another facility if symptoms warrant such action.

“These are highly unusual times for all of us in healthcare,” said Johnna Reed, R.N., chief administrative officer, Pardee UNC Health. “However, patient safety and care remain a priority regardless of conditions or context. To accomplish these goals, we’re implementing a process to direct patients to specific locations that will both quickly address symptoms, while also maintaining safe environments for patients and staff.” In addition to this new urgent care triage process, Pardee has also implemented telehealth options for their primary care practices. Patients can call their practice and staff will provide instruction on how to take advantage of this option.

Patients who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms of fever greater than 100 degrees, cough, and shortness of breath are asked to call the Pardee COVID-19 Helpline at 828-694-8048 for guidance. If a patient is experiencing breathlessness, chest tightness, respiratory trouble, or chest pain, they should go immediately to the nearest emergency department.

Pardee encourages the community to continue to practice social distancing guidance and to follow the precautions offered by the CDC to protect themselves and others from the spread of all respiratory illness, including flu and COVID-19.
