Pardee UNC Health Care Earns Echocardiography Reaccreditation

Pardee UNC Health Care has been granted a three-year term of accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Committee (IAC) in Echocardiography in adult transthoracic. Echocardiography is used to assess different areas of the heart and detect heart disease or signs of serious infection.

“Making an accurate diagnosis for the patient involves many factors; in cardiology, echocardiography provides critical information to assist with that accuracy” said Dr. Leslie Campbell, cardiologist, Pardee Cardiology Associates. “The training and experience of the sonographer, the choice of equipment and the metrics established for the program ensure that accuracy for the best patient care. This accreditation demonstrates Pardee’s commitment to quality patient care, as well as our dedication to continuous improvement in our echocardiography program. The team is proud to have achieved this designation.”

Accreditation by IAC means that Pardee has undergone an intensive application and review process and is found to be in compliance with the published standards, demonstrating a commitment to quality patient care in echocardiography. Comprised of a detailed self-evaluation followed by a thorough review by a panel of medical experts, the IAC accreditation process enable both the critical operation and technical components of the applicant facility to be assessed, including representative case studies and their corresponding reports.
