Non-essential Surgeries to be Rescheduled

Pardee UNC Health Care has been monitoring all surgical cases daily, following the guidance of CDC recommendations and medical staff leadership to determine safety and PPE resource utilization. It has been determined, effective Wednesday, March 25, Pardee is rescheduling non-essential surgeries. Emergency and essential surgeries will continue uninterrupted.

Medical staff leadership will continue to consult with surgeons to determine which procedures will be considered medically necessary, and which procedures can be delayed with less impact for the patient.

Rescheduling these procedures will minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 among patients and health care providers, as well as allow us to conserve critical resources and focus care on those that need it most.

Patients who fall into this category will receive communication from their health care provider with further instructions. If patients have specific questions, they should reach out to their health care provider to understand how this decision will impact their procedure.

Pardee is focusing resources to ensure that acute patients have the care and support they need when they need it.
