Pardee UNC Health Care to Host Free Lung Cancer Information Session on Thursday, Nov. 8
Pardee UNC Health Care will host a free lung cancer information session on Thursday, Nov. 8 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Pardee Cancer Center, located at 805 6th Avenue West in Hendersonville. Lung cancer is the leading cause of death in both men and women. Symptoms do not usually appear until the disease is too advanced to treat. Dr. Thomas Eisenhauer of Pardee Surgical Associates, Dr. Gary Rodberg of Carolina Lung & Sleep at Pardee, and Dr. Yaseen Zia of Pardee Radiation Oncology will discuss new advancements in the fight against lung cancer. These advancements include the low-dose CT lung scan, which can save lives by detecting lung cancer in the early stages; SBRT technology, the latest in radiation treatment; and surgical options for treating lung cancer.
Consider attending the information session if you or someone you know currently smokes tobacco or previously smoked for 15 years or more, has been exposed to secondhand smoke, or has a family history of lung cancer.
The event is free and open to the public. Spanish interpretation services will be available free of charge. To register or learn more, please call 828-698-7364.
