Throughout history, psychiatric treatment was believed to be a medical specialization occurring in isolation from other treatments offered to patients. In fact, psychiatric disorders interrupt the dynamic interplay of the biological, psychological, sociological, and spiritual components of an individual's life. This disruption can have a considerable effect on the family, significant others, and the community. This philosophy guides the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the comprehensive services provided to our psychiatric patients.
We believe that psychiatric disorders are diseases that are treatable. Treatment offers the individual potential for improved mental health and an opportunity to restore and maintain successful and effective coping.
