Cancer Registry

The Comprehensive Cancer Center at Pardee also includes a Cancer Registry, which reports to the State Tumor Registry, located in Raleigh, N.C. The Cancer Registry is an organized center for the collection, analysis and organization of cancer data. The registry is also responsible for lifetime follow-up of all patients that are entered into the database, which is achieved through letters to physicians and patients.

Carol Burke,
Pardee Cancer Registrar

All cancers that are diagnosed and/or treated at Pardee Hospital, with the exception of localized basal and squamous cell skin cancers, are reported to the registry as required by North Carolina state law. All information is kept strictly confidential as mandated by the State of North Carolina and the bylaws of Pardee Hospital. The cancer registry at Pardee Hospital is in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

The information that is collected is used for research, planning, policymaking, and to monitor cancer trends. Physicians, hospital administrators, health policy makers and community members use the data. Our intent is that the collection of this data will aid in the research to find a cure for cancer and help save lives.
